RESEARCH PROJECTS
Blue Monitor works with Universitys, research clusters, and corporate research partners. Although we operate in the US, and India, our primary research activities to date have been focused on Africa. Blue Monitor believes in, and is working hard to cultivate innovative clusters in emerging markets and create a better future for global citizens.
RESEARCH PLANS FOR AFRICA Blue Monitor is working with Global Business Incbation on a network of incubators with African higher learning institutions to spur the next generation of start ups and venture capital ecosystem for the continent.
Telecommunications Research Blue Monitor researchers say Africa as a whole is a burgeoning digital mobile market, with the number of subscribers across the continent set to almost triple by the end of 2010. Blue Monitor expects there to be over 375 million subscribers across the continent by 2011, 95% of which will likely be prepaid, compared to the European Union, where between 60% and 80% of subscribers are prepaid. Blue Monitor calculates that African operators will see their revenues increase from US$14 billion in 2002 t to around US$110 billion by 2012. "The largest growth markets will be SA, Nigeria and Egypt.
New Media Research Project Blue Monitoir is working with Sidarec Center on a new digital media lab, and internet radio station
in Nairobi, Kenya. This is a philathropic partnership between Open Architecture, Blue Monitor, and AMD's 50X15 foundation.
Robotics and Sensor Networks Research Blue Monitor teams in US, India, and Africa are working on projects with the Microsoft Robotics SDK, the Microsoft sensor SDK, and The LEGO® MINDSTORMS platform.
